North Torque

Privacy policy

Last updated October 15, 2026

North Torque collects as little personal information as it needs to sell and ship your parts. This policy follows Canada’s PIPEDA and Québec’s Law 25.

Who’s responsible

Our person in charge of protecting personal information is the Privacy Officer, North Torque, Ottawa, Ontario. Email orders@bikerepairshop.ca with “Privacy” in the subject.

What we collect and why

  • When you order: your name, email, phone, shipping address and what you bought. We use it to ship your order, send receipts and tracking, and handle returns.
  • Payment: card details go straight to Stripe. We never see or store your card number.
  • On this site: your saved bike, cart and province are stored in your own browser (local storage), not on our servers. We don’t use advertising trackers. If we add any later, we’ll ask first.
  • If you email us: what you write and your email address, to answer you.

We don’t sell your information.

Who we share it with

Only the services we need to run the store:

  • Stripe (payments), Cloudflare (website hosting and our order database), Resend (order emails) and Canada Post (delivery).
  • Some of these services store data outside Québec and Canada, including in the United States, where it may be accessed under local law. We chose them because they protect data to a standard comparable to Canadian law.

How long we keep it

Order records are kept for 7 years because tax law requires it. Then we delete them.

Young riders

Many of our riders are under 18. We only collect what’s needed to fill an order. Riders under 18 should have a parent or guardian place the order.

Your rights

You can ask to see, correct or delete your personal information, or withdraw consent, by emailing us. We’ll answer within 30 days. If you’re not satisfied, you can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada or, in Québec, the Commission d’accès à l’information.

If something goes wrong

If a privacy incident creates a risk of serious harm, we’ll tell you and the authorities as the law requires.
